- Jump ring, gold-plated, 10mm round, 18 gauge / 8mm inside diameter / brass
- Ear wire fishhook, gold-plated, 20mm / 9x5mm corrugated teardrop / hidden open loop, 22 gauge brass
- Polymer clay, Sculpey® PREMO, navy
- Polymer clay, Sculpey® PREMO, white
- Sculpey® PREMO™ polymer clay, butter yellow (PE02 5028)
- Liquid polymer clay, translucent clear Liquid Sculpey®
- Sculpey® acrylic emulsion, glaze, clear (ASGUV2)
- Adhesive, Aleene's® Original Tacky Glue®, clear
- Clay cutter, galvanized steel, 20mm / 30mm / 40mm round
Instructions
Print stock images of a cookie tin, sizing it so that it is the same size as your 30mm round clay cutter.
Spray the stock images with Krylon Clear Acrylic Coating, front and back. Let the coating dry completely, then add a second coating, front and back.
Cut out the circular stock images.
Roll out Sculpey® PREMO navy polymer clay to a 1mm thickness.
Using the 30mm round clay cutter, cut four circles out of the navy polymer clay. With a toothpick, make a hole through one edge of each of the four circles.
Using Sculpey PREMO butter yellow polymer clay, make tiny cookies sized to the scale of the 30mm cutter.
Using Liquid Sculpey translucent clear liquid polymer clay, attach the clay cookies to two of the navy blue circles.
Push a small amount of Sculpey PREMO white polymer clay through a clay extruder to make thin ropes.
Surround each polymer clay cookie with a portion of thin white polymer clay rope. Make slight indentations in the white clay so it looks like ruffled wrappers.
Bake all four circles according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Cool completely.
Using Aleene’s® Original Tacky Glue®, attach the circular stock images to the two plain blue clay circles.
Glaze the cookie side of the cookie circles and the back side of the stock image circles with Sculpey clear acrylic emulsion. Let it dry.
Using 10mm 18-gauge gold-plated round jump rings, attach a cookie circle and a cookie-tin circle to a 20mm 22-gauge gold-plated corrugated teardrop fishhook ear wire.
Repeat Step 13 for the second earring.
